| Hinson Cemetery Dedication |
|
On May 29, 2011 a dedication was held at the Hinson Cemetery, Knight Community, Evans, LA. The cemetery has 41 veterans ranging from Civil War to Korea and as of that time, there had been no flag or markers to represent these heroes. Jack Redell Memorial Chapter #20 members James Quaidy, Pete Jones, and Irving Monroe erected a flagpole, put a marker below, and a light on the flag to memorialize these great American heroes. Commander of Chapter #20 and 2011-2012 Department Commander Jeff Lee led the opening ceremonies at the dedication, held prayer, gave a speech to the members of Knight Community, and then read the names of all 41 deceased soldiers. An annual memorial event will be held in the community on the last Sunday of May.
