Who We Are

Junior members play a crucial role in the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Auxiliary, representing the future of our commitment to supporting disabled veterans and their families. program provides young people with a unique opportunity to serve veterans while cultivating leadership skills and fostering a sense of civic responsibility. By engaging with veterans in their communities, members learn about patriotism, service, and the sacrifices made by our nation's, all while forming meaningful connections. The Junior program is designed to be both educational and rewarding. Through structured activities and mentorship from adult members, Junior members gain invaluable life experiences that shape their character and instill values of compassion. By participating in initiatives like creating handmade cards for hospitalized veterans and engaging in community fundraisers, they contribute to goals that truly make a difference in veterans' lives. This deepens their understanding of veterans' needs while bringing fresh energy and innovative ideas to the organization.

OUR
MISSION

2.png

As Junior members of the DAV Auxiliary, we carry on the great work of our organization by supporting veterans and their families. Through our activities, we learn the values of service, patriotism, and community while developing skills that will serve us throughout our lives.

The Juniors of today will be the adult members of tomorrow, continuing the legacy of service to disabled veterans and their families.

Junior Charters

Any chartered Auxiliary unit with at least ten Junior members may request a Junior Charter. Once chartered, Juniors select officers including a Commander, Senior Vice Commander, Adjutant, and Chaplain. Junior units meet at designated times and places agreed upon by the Juniors and their parents/legal guardians, supervised by a life member appointed by the Unit Commander.

Awards and Recognition

National Outstanding Junior Awards are presented in three age categories (7-10, 11-14, and 15-17) at the National Convention. These awards recognize Junior members for their volunteer hours, activities, and support of DAV Auxiliary Units and State Departments.

Junior units can also create history books to document their activities and achievements, which can be brought to the National Convention for judging.
